H&B COVID-19 STATEMENT – Lockdown 3

H&B COVID-19 STATEMENT – Lockdown 3

Although the country has entered its third period of Lockdown, house moves are still permitted during this time. The team at Harker & Bullman, as it has done throughout the Pandemic, remains at the service of Landlords and Tenants and we will do everything we can to help clients, whilst complying with all restrictions.

Some of our team have been equipped to work from home so that our usual comprehensive property management service is assured.  Please use the appropriate contact details below:

Office Hours

Our main office telephone lines remain open as usual 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday and until 12.30pm on Saturdays. The office is closed to the public except for essential visits and these appointments must be booked beforehand.

Property Viewings

We are following the recommended guidelines and have strict processes in place. Applicants will need to confirm they are Covid symptom free before their appointment, keep rigidly to the times of their viewing, wear a face covering (unless exempt) and observe social distancing at all times. We will ensure properties are ventilated as much as is possible with open windows etc..

We anticipate that demand for properties will continue to outstrip supply for at least several weeks so please be aware that not all applications will be accepted for a tenancy.

Video Viewings

Where possible, video property tours will be introduced in order to minimise travelling and contact for all parties.

Property Management

As part of our Fully Managed and Platinum services, property check visits will continue throughout the Lockdown. This will be through the use of video calls so as to maintain good relationship with tenants, handle any problems and to ensure standards are maintained. We continue to book check visits into 2021 and will recommence physical visits as soon as we are able.

Check outs will continue as usual, once properties have been vacated and left empty for several days.

Rent

Please note that the Government has stated that rent should be paid wherever possible – they have not agreed any ‘rent free’ periods. Measures have been announced to pay employees 80% of wages and to increase Universal Credit payments. Where a tenant experiences difficulties they should inform our accounts department above so that we can work together and, once the pandemic is over, agree a plan to settle any arrears.

 .

We continue to be humbled by the goodwill and the community spirit which exists in this beautiful corner of England. However, reported Covid case numbers are higher in this area than ever, so we urge everyone to follow the Lockdown restrictions.

We hope you and your families remain healthy and stay strong.

Take Care
